Kurt Angus Smalls-Walker, FNP-C, "Angus" started his nursing career with a BSN from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. Since then, Angus' passion for helping patients in emergency settings grew during his last clinical rotation at Tarleton State University. Angus spent the next four years working in Emergency Medicine all across North and Central Texas. It was through his experience and observation that he noticed how education was much needed in the communities that he had served. With eagerness, determination and support, Angus earned his MSN at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in 2017 to further assist his communities through education and treatment.Angus has actively participated in sports most of his life and understands how sports injuries can impact the quality of a patient's life. It is in his nature and purpose to educate, treat, and help heal patients who deal with acute and chronic pain through multiple modalities. “I heavily believe in Bandura’s Self Efficacy Theory. Having my patients actively take part in their plan of care is vital to overcoming adversity and improving their overall quality of life”. Spending time with his family, cooking, participating in church, and staying physically active are very important in Angus' life.
