Hip Pain

Hip Pain

Common causes:

  • Excessive Use, Acute Injury, Fall, Blunt Trauma
  • Sleeping primarily to one side
  • Osteoarthritis:
    • Cartilage at the ball and joint component starts to wear down over a period of time.
    • This can be common among those who are active and athletic that perform a lot of exertive exercises over time, causing cartilage to demineralize. This can triger radiation pain in the groin area as well as the front of the hip.
  • Bursitis or (Trochanteric Bursitis)
    • For those who frequently sleep on one side or the other, this can irritate and cause inflammation of the bursa sac that sits lateral or the outside of the hip.
      • This can commonly diagnosed by pressing on the area of pain.

How can these conditions be treated?

Synergy Pain Relief Center offers several treatment options for hip pain starting with conservative methods first. Our in-office massage therapist can perform some massage therapy and manual therapy as well as introduce exercises and stretches that can be done to relieve the pain. We recommend our patients receive imaging for a proper diagnosis. From there we can offer injections and additional treatments.
