Common pain conditions:
The most common injuries associated with elbow pain are "Tennis Elbow" and "Golfer's Elbow".
- Tennis Elbow: occurs in patients with repetitive motion and weight lifting causing sharp pain on the outside of the elbow. Pain is worse with increased range of motion or movement.
- Golfer's Elbow: Very similar to Tennis Elbow, but instead of the pain on the outside of the elbow, the pain is located on the inside of the elbow.
I am experiencing Elbow Pain. How do I know if I have Tennis Elbow?
Synergy Pain Relief Center recommends visiting our office for a proper diagnosis, however, a good way to find out if you are postitive for Tennis Elbow, is if you identify with Mill's Test.
What is Mill's Test?
- Place your arm in a relaxed, resting position. Then,
- Flex the wrist
If flexing the wrist reproduces the pain symptoms in the elbow, that is a good indicator that you may have tennis elbow.
Do I have golfer's Elbow?
- Have your arm in a relaxed position with your palm facing up.
- flex your wrist.
If flexing your wrist reproduces the pain symptoms on the inside of the elbow, that is a good indicator that you may have Golfer's Elbow.
How can these conditions be treated?
Synergy Pain Relief Center offers several treatment options for Tennis Elbow/Golfer's Elbow or other Elbow Pain in General. The pain can be relieved with a simple steroid injection to reduce inflammation in the pain area. Durable medical equipment can also be used to treat this type of pain with either an electrical transcutaneous Electrical Stimulation (TENS) Unit or with the use of an elbow brace. These are just a few ways our office can treat this type of pain.
